Emerson Eads

Emerson Eads

Choir

Emerson is a University of Alaska Fairbanks alumni, having studied conducting with Peabody's Markand Thakar, and conducted the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra. A student of John Luther Adams, he was commissioned by Opera Fairbanks to write The Color of Gold, an opera in 3 Acts, libretto by Cassandra Tilly, in March 2014. He conducted the premiere to a rave review in Opera magazine. Music critic Mike Dunham declared it one of the musical high points of 2014 in the Alaska Dispatch News. He is currently enrolled as a Doctoral candidate in choral conducting at Notre Dame's School of Sacred Music.

Collaborative Piano

Lorna Eder received her doctorate degree in keyboard collaborative arts from the University of Southern California in May 2012. She came from Los Angeles to Fairbanks in January 2011 to join the UAF music faculty as the department collaborative pianist. She keeps very busy at UAF and in the community accompanying, coaching and teaching piano.
