We will need your resume and statement of why you want to serve (3-year terms) and what you can offer to FSAF. Expectations include:


Volunteer for the Festival

The Festival is always in need of individual volunteers. Past volunteers have done such things as manning at the hospitality desk, assisting with mailings, distributing materials, office help, taking care of guest artists, and fund raising. If you are interested in volunteering your time to the Festival, please contact us at 474-8869.


The Festival is offering summer work-study opportunities in the following areas:

Before-Festival Positions

Communications

Assist with marketing, public and community relations through advertising, promotion, and social media projects related to the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival's events and programs. Work with Festival staff to develop media coverage of events and programs in national, regional and local media outlets, broadcast, print and Internet. Assist with projects to bring new audiences to the Festival through special programming/events, connections and targeted marketing efforts.

Development

Work on a number of projects including sponsorship and grant research, preparation, tracking, and fulfillment. Duties vary but can include research of potential donors and grant-makers, processing mailings, working with donors, and assisting at fundraising events. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required.

Merchandise

Assist with writing orders, filing, and updating vendor files for the gift shop. Work in the gift shop, sell our posters, setup, merchandise preparations before festival and clean up after festival.

Festival preparations

Assist with the creation, implantation, and production of materials needed for the Festival. Including, not limited to, nametags, welcome packets, dining cards, Festival Handbook, and PowerPoint presentations of the sponsors for that night's concert sponsors / overall festival sponsor & pioneer concert visual artist slideshow. Aid in general office help with mail, phones, filing, customer service, proof reading and communications.

Festival-Only Postions

Music Library

Assist the FSAF Music Librarian with preparation of scores and parts for all performances (orchestra, wind ensemble, choirs, chamber music). Help maintain library hours for copier schedule and process.

Stage Crew

Assist with equipment needs of FSAF workshops and events including transportation of equipment. Complete daily event setups, technical requirements, furniture, equipment, etc. Assist with daily event management to include unlocking meeting rooms, checking out equipment, and maintaining awareness of daily event schedules. Inspect all equipment for proper functioning before setting up an event.

Drivers, Couriers

Assist with the transportation of guest artist and materials.

Box Office Assistance

General Admission and reception tasks, Answer hig volume phone. email, and in-person inquires from Registrants, Guest Artists, Staff, and general public. Process concert recording orders and internal ticket requests for FSAF concerts.

Operations Assistance

Assist in maintaining daily schedule and updates for classes and concerts.

Power Point Artist

Helps create the Power Points for the concerts.

Artist Hospitality

Be a hospitality host, coordinate drinks/snacks in dressing rooms, and handle the needs of the artist before the show.

Office Admin

General office help with mail, phones, filing, customer service, computer skills, proof reading, and communications.

Lunchbites Program Coordinators On & Offsite

Figures out schedule and who is performing, themed lunchbites scheduled, print programs (organizational skills, people skills, set knowledge).
