Festival FAQ

Where are you located?

Our main office is open year-round at 600 University Ave. Suite 8 in the green section of the building on the top floor. For a map click here (link to map). During Festival, you can visit our Box office located in the Great Hall at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

How do I register online?

To register for classes, first click on the Log in link in the main menu. You will be asked for a username and password. You can start a new account by clicking on the 'start a new account' link. This will ask for some basic information. If you've already made an account, but can't remember your login information, call the Festival office at 907-474-8869 and we'll help you log in!

Next, click the 'Classes' menu option at the top of the page. You will be presented with a list of programs of study. Click on one you're interested in, and you'll be presented with a listing of classes in that program. Click the 'Add to card' button for any you want to sign up for. Repeat until all the classes you want are in your cart. You can see your cart from the 'Classes->My Schedule' menu option.

When you are signed up for all the classes you want, click on the 'Pay now' button and you will be directed to Authorize.net to securely process your credit card. If you wish to pay by check, you can send that to us at this time. When we receive the check, we will credit it to your account. If you want to save your spot in a class but cannot afford full tuition at this time, you may opt to pay half now and half later (before July 1st to save your spot).

I lost my login information. What do I do?

Call the Festival office at 907-474-8869 or email info@fsaf.org and we will be happy to help you login.

If I don't want to register online, how can I register?

Call the Festival office at 907-474-8869 and one of our staff will be happy to help you register! A schedule and receipt will be emailed to you.

I'm visiting from out of town. Where can I stay during Festival?

On campus housing (i.e. dorm rooms) can be reserved through UAF Reslife Conference Services, 907-474-6769. Single rooms cost $26 per day, doubles are $52 per day, and apartments (sleeps 4) are $115 per day. In the dorms, kitchens and bathrooms are shared with other residents.

We suggest that registrants connect with others on the Festival's Facebook page to find roommates or local Festival participants willing to make space available in their homes (maybe even a rustic cabin for a true Alaskan experience).

There are many more housing options off campus, and the Fairbanks Convention and Visitors Bureau gives a fairly comprehensive listing of possibilities. Some nearby locations are Billie's Backpackers Hostel, 5 Star Log Cabins, and 7 Gables Inn & Suites.

Those staying off campus may need some type of transportation. One place to rent bicycles is Alaska Outdoor Rentals & Guides. There's a good bike trail system in Fairbanks. The city also has buses that go all over town, with a major stop right outside the music department.

I missed the Opening Day. How do I get my packet?

Your packet with your nametag will be available at the Festival Box Office located in the Great Hall at UAF.

Where do I park on Campus?

Please view the campus map for locations of parking lots. Please note the locations of the Kiosk to purchase parking permits. These permits are available for general decal parking—all yellow lots as shown on the campus map. The permits do not exempt one from paying meters until after 5 p.m. Payment may be made by credit card (MC or VISA) or cash.
